Who We Are
John Shimonsky
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
John Shimonsky comes to us after serving 35 years in the U.S. military; a retired and former Chief Information Officer (CIO), U.S. Army, Middle East he oversaw more than 8,000 personnel providing the US military leadership, management and direction in establishing IT platforms, to include networks supporting more than 300,000 soldiers, sailors, airman and DoD personnel, throughout 11 countries in the Middle East supporting GULF WAR I and GULF WAR II efforts. After retiring as a decorated GULF WAR Veteran, he would later work in the Medical Community whereby under his supervision, the first-ever electronic medical record system (EMR) was developed in the State of Maryland, now in use today. As a President of a major Information Technology (IT) Research & Development corporation, he would oversee the development of the first-ever military cloud-based network and platforms used as todays standards. Presently, John acts as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for EmDrive LLC, Providing operational guidance, supporting the nations Department of Energy and nuclear forces . John is a graduate of The Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Maryland and Middle East Technical Institute with advanced degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. He is married to the former Nina Amarantous and enjoys golfing, bowling and was a former 5-time Boston Marathon top-100 finisher, running more than 50 marathons under the 2:20 minute barrier.
David Maiolo
Director of Cloud Practice
David Maiolo serves as Director of Cloud Practice at EmDrive, LLC, where he leads mission-critical modernization efforts for public sectors. In his dual role, David shapes technical strategy, architects secure cloud solutions, and serves as the primary interface between EmDrive and technical federal stakeholders. With over two decades of experience across AWS GovCloud, cybersecurity, Microsoft enterprise platforms, and large-scale federal programs, he delivers scalable infrastructure and operational excellence in highly regulated environments.
Rob Bardo
Facility Security Officer (FSO)
A devout Catholic, a Father, and a Patriot of the United States of America. Having served honorably several years in the USARMY with multiple awards, studied Management Information Systems and Theology through Academia, then onto solutioning as principal to many novel and unadvertised solutions within technology and business of civilian and defense sectors. With his innovative and insightful solutioning, Rob strives to enhance customer capabilities as an effective force multiplier. With nearly 30 years of experience in information technology, cyber security, systems engineering, design, development, agile management, and novel research; Rob continues as a technological asset, providing big picture insights and product solutions to varying sectors as the creative Solution Strategist and Trusted Advisor.
